What is UX design?
UX comes from User Experience. In simple words it is the way in which people interact with a website. The goal of UX design is to make sure that the user has a positive and intuitive experience when using a product or service. A positive user experience can lead to higher engagement, increased customer satisfaction, and improved conversion rates.
Fact: The term “UX” was first coined by Don Norman in 1993 when he wrote “The Design of Everyday Things”.
What is UI design?
UI stands for User Interface. It is the presentation of a system to the user. It is made up of what appears on a screen (what you can see) and what isn’t (what you can’t). There are two types of interfaces that people interact with: Graphical User Interface (GUI) and Command Line Interface (CLI). GUI is the most common type of interface for people to use because it is easier to use than CLI. A GUI depends on buttons, icons, and other graphics that allow you to interact with a system while CLI relies on text inputs to perform the operating system functions.
Fact: The term “user-interface” came into existence in the 1960s. It was coined by Doug Englebart and his team at Stanford Research Institute (SRI).
